Kudos to new pizza business

To the editor:

Compliments are really in order for the newly opened Greek’s Pizzeria.

Its unusual exterior décor and color scheme have turned what was an ordinary, drab frontage into an attractive, viable little addition to a once seedy appearing mall. Kudos.

River is rough

To the editor:

I’m fed up about our river still. Or again.

Just think what Portland would be if we would have only 10 or 12 inches of snow.

Our river banks are caving in, in Portland and Jay County. It was in the paper that they needed to be dredged. Amen.

It seems all they want is bigger drain pipes. Our river is only so big. How could it hold more water if more was running through pipes? Flood.

Take dirt and put it in the park behind the swimming pool in the area that always floods. There’s a lot of people in Portland that never got over the damage. My son’s house got flooded twice. It ruined his floors, dry all and kitchen cabinets. No one helped, not even homeowner’s insurance.

I hope we have no more floods. I wouldn’t want city hall damaged. We fixed it up nice.
