Family says thank you for help with benefit

To the editor: The evening of Feb. 17 was a night to remember, in more ways than one.

It was an evening for family and friends to remember Mandy Theurer while the generosity of those in attendance is something we will never forget.

The second annual Benefit in Memory of Mandy was held at Jay Community Center with a wonderful meal served and an auction following with items donated by businesses and individuals. All money raised will be returned to the community by way of two scholarships and donations to Jay County Cancer Society and a variety of other organizations that help others in need.

We would like to thank a multitude of people and organizations but would undoubtedly miss someone if we tried to list them all. There are a few though that were an integral part of the successful evening. Thanks to the Nick and Kay Alexander family for preparing the delicious meal that was enjoyed by more than 400 people, the staff of Loy Auctioneering for its services, Kyle Cook and the staff of Jay Community Center, Tony Lennartz for the bounce house, tables and chairs, Lori Schoenlein for the dinner tickets, Display Craft for designing the posters and T-shirts and members of the Delts, who helped the night of the event.

Last but not least, we thank any and all who had a hand in helping to make the night a success as we couldn’t have done it without you. Your donated auction items, monetary contributions and words of encouragement for what we are doing made the evening even sweeter. Many, many people will be helped because of you.

On behalf of the family, friends and many who worked so hard on the benefit, we thank you. We look forward to doing it all again next year.
