Since cracking the starting lineup, all Kyra Braun has done is win.

Braun, a 2016 Jay County High School graduate, added two more victories as the Trine University women’s tennis team dropped a pair of matches.

The freshman recorded the only win for the Thunder (1-8) in an 8-1 loss March 16 to Texas Lutheran. She defeated Kylee Armstrong 6-1, 6-1.

On Wednesday, Braun continued her career-opening winning streak by earning a 6-4, 6-4 victory as Trine lost 6-3 to Bethel.

Braun, who helped lead Jay County to a sectional title in 2015, has continued her dynamic start to her career and is a flawless 4-0 on the season as Trine’s No. 6 singles player.

In a doubleheader Wednesday against Calumet College of St. Joseph, Ingle entered as a pinch runner in the fifth inning of game one and scored two batters later in a 10-4 victory.

He had an RBI single in the sixth inning and came around to score as the Maple Leafs (13-9, 4-1 Crossroads League) tied with Calumet, 4-4, in the second game.
