MONTEZUMA, Ohio -- A Portland man remains missing after three days of searching.
Emergency personnel called off the search for Kevin Mann about 9:30 p.m. Monday. He has been missing for more than 65 hours after jumping off of a pontoon boat into Grand Lake St. Marys.
The search will continue Tuesday morning.
Efforts to find Mann, 48, were picked up for the third day early Monday. Emergency workers from several agencies had looked throughout the previous two days, with a brief break Sunday because of thunderstorms.
In addition to looking in the water, emergency personnel conducted a thorough search of an island and land near where Mann left the pontoon, said Ohio Department of Natural Resources spokesperson Carey Santiana.
“They found nothing,” she said.
Mann was on the pontoon with eight others early Saturday when he jumped into the water voluntarily. Others on the boat called 911 about 2:30 a.m. Saturday after Mann failed to return to the boat after several minutes.
Montezuma Fire Department began to search for Mann. ODNR is now leading the search with help from the United States Boating Alliance recovery team, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, Celina police, the St. Marys Township, Celina and Montezuma fire departments and volunteers. Dive teams, drones, sonar scanners, K9 units have been used to try to locate Mann.
