Tire hits car
A Bluffton woman and a rural Portland man were involved in an accident Tuesday afternoon.
Blanche I. Hamilton, 78, was driving southeast on Indiana 116 in her 2004 Pontiac Vibe and Zebulan Anderson, 41, was driving a 1998 Freightliner truck while towing a livestock trailer headed northwest on the same road. A wheel bearing broke off of the trailer and hit the front of Hamilton’s vehicle as the two vehicles passed each other on the highway.
Hamilton and the passenger in her car, Shiana Hodge, 19, Bluffton, were both taken by Wells County EMS to Bluffton Regional Medical Center.
Damage in the 1:20 p.m. accident was estimated over $5,000.
Left turn collision
A Portland teen and Pennville woman were involved in an accident Friday afternoon.
Bennet Brook, 17, Portland, was making a left turn out of the south Circle K parking lot at the intersection of Indiana 27 and Seventh Street. She told police that her windows were tinted dark and with her sunglasses on, she could not see Kristin Coleman, 33, Pennville, traveling south on Indiana 27.
Brook pulled onto the road in her 2001 Pontiac Grand AM, registered to Tonya R. Davis, Dunkirk, causing Coleman to hit the passenger side of the car with her 2013 Kia Sorento.
Damage in the 3:15 p.m. accident was estimated at $2,500 to $5,000.Tire hits car
