Last week at Southern Wells: Jay County scored on all but one of its possessions in a 49-0 rout of the Southern Wells Raiders in its conference opener. Michael Schlechty scored three total touchdowns as he and his twin Ryan compiled more than 270 yards of total offense.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 29-of-49 for 461 yards, seventouchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 42 carries for 275 yards and four touchdowns. Receiving — Caleb Webster – 11 catches for 201 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 33 tackles, three tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

Last week vs. Lapel: Adams Central came up short in a 34-33 double-overtime loss to Lapel, the second loss in a row for the Jets. Adams Central allowed 408 yards on 51 pass attempts.
Season leaders: Passing — Parker Bates – 26 of 48 for 304 yards, fourtouchdowns and two interceptions. Rushing — Logan Macklin – 35 carries for 296 yards and two touchdowns. Receiving — Chase Peterson – eight catches for 143 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — Logan Macklin – 31 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack.
Last season: A balanced attack offensively helped Adams Central to a 33-7 victory over Jay County in Monroe. Cole Stigleman had 130 yards rushing, including a 50-yard TD run, for Jay County. The Jets outgained the Patriots 411-205.
Game notes: This is the fourth meeting all time between Jay County and Adams Central, and the Jets have won all three games, including a 48-12 drubbing in 2014 for Jay County’s first ACAC contest. Adams Central has outscored Jay County 124-26 in those three games ... Adams Central is coming off back-to-back sectional titles, including a regional title in 2016 ... The last time Adams Central had a losing record through the first four games of the season was 2014 when it started 1-3 and finished 4-6.
