Last week vs. Adams Central: Jay County allowed nearly 500 rushing yards and surrendered more points than it had in almost two decades in a 70-42 loss to the Jets. Michael Schlechty had three more rushing touchdowns and Holton Hill threw for two scores in the defeat.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton HIll – 37-of-62 passing for 608 yards, nine touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 57 carries for 375 yards and seven touchdowns. Receiving — Caleb Webster – 12 catches for 210 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 45 tackles, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

Last week at Bluffton: Bluffton turned the ball over three times and gave up more than 400 yards of total offense in a 54-19 loss to the Class 2A No. 2 Woodlan Warriors. The Tigers only had 204 yyards of total offense, 166 of which was through the air.
Season leaders: Passing — Gavin King – 34-of-71 passing for 382 yards, three touchdowns and seven itnerceptions. Rushing — Brandon Lockwood – 94 carries for 597 yards and five touchdowns. Receiving — Blake Kizer – 12 catches for 102 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Jadyn Stepp – 24 tackles, two tackles for loss and one interception.
Last season: Jay County forced four turnovers, including a pick-six in the third quarter, as the Patriots defeated the Tigers 37-18. The Patriots recovered a pair of fumbles and had two interceptions, one of which was returned by Jacob Geesaman for a touchdown. Holton Hill threw for 205 yards and a score while Ryan Schlechty had two total TDs.
Game notes: This is the sixth meeting all time between the Patriots and Tigers, with the Patriots holding a 5-0 record. Bluffton was the first opponent in JCHS?history ... Jay County scores 38.3 points per game while allowing 26 points per game defensively. Bluffton averages just 21 points per game on offense while surrendering 36.8 points on defense ...
