Last week vs. Bluffton: Jay County fumbled on three of its four second-half possessions and failed to reach the end zone in the final 24 minutes of a 37-28 loss to the Tigers. Jay County allowed 18 fourth-quarter points to the Tigers, who were behind 21-7 after the first quarter.
Season leaders: Passing — Holton Hill – 45-of-79 passing for 828 yards, 11touchdowns and one interception. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 71 carries for 427 yards and eight touchdowns. Receiving — Caleb Webster – 12 catches for 210 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Ethan Theurer – 58 tackles, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery.

Conference: Allen County Athletic
Last week at Southern Wells: Woodlan trailed 7-0 after the first quarter but poured on 43 unanswered points in a 43-7 win in Poneto. Justin Durkes completed 10 of his 19 pass attempts for 216 yards and two touchdowns, and Jack Rhoades had 102 rushing yards and three TDs on 13 carries.
Season leaders: Passing — Justin Durkes – 62-of-85 passing for 1,130 yards, 18touchdowns and two interceptions. Rushing — Jack Rhoades — 84 carries for 833 yards and 10 touchdowns. Receiving — Donald Guerrant – 25 catches for 499 yards and seven touchdowns. Defense — Seb Spieth – 63 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack and one forced fumble.
Last season: Jay County put the ball on the ground three times in the first half and each fumble directly led to points at the other end as Woodlan won 40-7 in Portland. Jack Rhoades had 178 rushing yards while Justin Durkes threw for one score and ran for another. Cole Stigleman led JCHS with 69 rushing yards, and Ryan Schlechty scored the only Patriot TD on a 32-yard pass from Parker Grimes in the fourth quarter.
Game notes: This is the fourth meetingall time between Jay County and Woodlan, with the Warriors having won each of the three previous games. Woodlan has a 95-14 scoring advantage in those contests ... Woodlan, which has started 9-0 in each of the last two seasons, is ranked second in Class 2A by The Associated Press ... Woodlan averages more than 500 yards of total offense and more than 51 points per game, having scored at least 60 points twice. The Warrior defense surrenders a mere nine points per game complete with two shutouts ... The John Harrell website predicts Woodlan to win 49-21, while Calpreps.com has Woodlan as 25-point favorites.
