Last week vs. Huntington North: Jay County had a potential go-ahead touchdown pass picked off in the end zone during the final minute of a 27-22 loss to Huntington North. Parker Grimes threw for 272 yards and two touchdowns, and Ryan Schlechty had three total TDs in the loss.
Season leaders: Passing — Parker Grimes – 14-of-23 for 305 yards, two touchdownsand one interception. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 19 carries for 139 yards and one touchdown. Receiving — Ryan Schlechty – six catches for 160 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — R. Schlechty – 19 tackles, two tackles for loss.

Last week at Blackford: The Blackford Bruins scored 21 straight points for a 28-14 victory over the Southern Wells Raiders. Mason Huffman threw for 139 yards, including a 64-yard TD pass to Will Pennington. Huffman was also the team’s leading rusher with 25 yards.
Season leaders: Passing — Mason Huffman – 12-of-23 for 257 yards, two touchdownsand two interceptions. Rushing — Huffman – 22 carries for 66 yards and two touchdowns. Receiving — Coleman Beeks – six catches for 124 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Josh Beeks – 18 tackles, one tackle for loss and one sack.
Last season: Twins Michael and Ryan Schlechty combined for more than 200 rushing yards and four total touchdowns as Jay County blasted Southern Wells 49-0 in Poneto. The Patriots scored on all but one drive and limited the Raiders to just 16 total yards in the second half.
