For most of his collegiate career, Sawyer Miller has been ranked among the best in the nation.

It wasn’t until recently he received conference recognition.

Miller, a 2015 South Adams High School graduate, was named Sooner Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week on Dec. 10.

It is the first time he’s gotten the honor.

The Indiana Tech senior, who is ranked third in NAIA at 125 points, was undefeated on Dec. 8 in the Indiana Tech Warrior Duals by knocking off a pair of top-five opponents. He beat No. 4 Jordan Martinez of Cambellsville before defeating top-ranked Hayden Lee of University of the Cumberlands.

Miller (10-2) scored a 7-3 upset of Lee, and recorded an escape and a takedown to beat Martinez.

She was 2-of-3 with a 3-pointer and a free throw while also grabbing two rebounds and notching two blocked shots. A day earlier in a 68-65 win over Pikeville, Will had five points, two rebounds and a pair of blocks.
