William Coy

William E. Coy Jr., age 56, of rural Portland passed away Thursday at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Portland on Nov. 8, 1961, the son of William E. and Betty (Stahl) Coy Sr. He was a farmer and worked at W&M Manufacturing and helped with Amish transportation. He was a 1981 Jay County High School graduate and was an avid bowler.
Surviving are three sons, Alfred Coy of Portland, Jacob Coy of Bryant and John Coy of Portland; two daughters, Rachael Coy of Union City, Indiana, and Roxane Coy of Portland; three sisters, Kathy Fitzgerald of Fulton, Kentucky, Nancy Crites of Indianapolis and Linda Goldacker of Monclova, Ohio; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Denney presiding. Burial will be in the Little Salamonia Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon to 2 p.m. Memorials can be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
