Drove off road
A Yorktown woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash this morning.
Nichole R. Snyder, 41, was driving south on Indiana 67 near its intersection with county road 1000 West when her 2006 Dodge Durango went off the road. It struck aguard rail , went into the west side ditch and struck a fence before coming to a stop in another ditch.
Snyder complained of chest pain and was transported by Jay Emergency Medical Service to Jay County Hospital.
Damage in the 5:15 a.m. accident is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Shattered
A Portland woman’s car was damaged sometime between Sunday and Monday.
Terra L. Lee, 461 E. 7th St., told Portland Police Department someone had shattered the back window of her Chevrolet TrailBlazer. She discovered the damage Monday morning.
Failure to yield
Two Portland residents were involved in a vehicle collision Monday afternoon.
Stormi L. Canterbury, 19, was driving south on Commerce Street and stopped at its intersection with Main Street. She told Portland Police Department she looked both ways before continuing into the intersection, but the sun was in her eyes and she didn’t see a 1999 Chevrolet S-10 traveling east on Main Street through the intersection.
Canterbury struck the driver’s side of the truck, driven by Jerry E. Sullivan, 68, with the 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier she was driving, registered to James E. Canterbury, same address asdriver .
Damage in the 1:49 p.m. collision is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
