Battery
A Dunkirk man pleaded guilty in Jay Circuit Court to a felony battery charge.
Michael Patterson, 45, 210 W. North St., pleaded guilty to battery resulting in bodily injury to a public safety officer, a Level 5 felony. Sentencing is scheduled for March 5. As part of a plea agreement, charges of resisting law enforcement, a Class A misdemeanor, and public intoxication, a Class B misdemeanor, will be dismissed.
Manufacturing
A trial date has been set for a Dunkirk woman accused of manufacturing drugs.
Jay Circuit Court rejected a plea deal for Jasma N. Leonhard, 29, 134 Mount Auburn St., who would have pleaded guilty to aiding, inducing or causing manufacturing of methamphetamine, a Level 5 felony. The trial is set to begin on April 10, with a final pretrial conference on March 30.
Recklessness
A Pennville man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to criminal recklessness, a Level 6 felony.
Steven E. Geesaman, 41, 6327 W. Walnut Corner Road, was sentenced to Jay County Jail for 18 months with all but 60 days suspended and given 36 days credit for 18 days served. He was assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for 16 months. As part of a plea agreement, a charge of criminal mischief was dismissed.
Probation violation
A man previously charged with drug dealing was found in violation of his probation.
Sha M. White, 27, whose last known address was in Mishawaka, was found in violation of his probation on the charge of dealing in a Schedule I, II, or III controlled substance: delivery, a Class B felony. He was sentenced to serve an additional six months of the 10-year sentence originally imposed in Jay Circuit Court.
Probation violation
A Muncie woman was found in violation of her probation in Jay Superior Court.
Kisty L. Sands, 28, 433 W. 13th St., was found in violation of her probation for the previous charges of theft and unlawful possession of a syringe, both Level 6 felonies. She was sentenced to serve an additional seven months of the 18-month sentence originally imposed, minus 46 days credit for 23 days served.
Possession
A Portland man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to a felony-level marijuana charge.
Paul B. Clubs Jr., 31, 610 E. Main St., pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, enhanced to a Class D felony. He was sentenced to 18 months in Jay County Jail with all but 120 days suspended and given 108 days credit for 55 days already served. He was assessed court costs of $185, placed on formal probation for 14 months and ordered to pay a drug abuse, prosecution, interdiction and correction fee of $200 and a substance abuse program fee of $400.

A Portland man pleaded guilty to a controlled substance charge in Jay Superior Court.
Tyler L. Pogue, 22, 217 E. Arch St., pleaded guilty to maintaining a common nuisance: controlled substance, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 90 days suspended and given four days credit for two days served, with the remainder to be served on electronically monitored home detention. He was fined $1, assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for nine months. As part of a plea agreement, charges of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia were dismissed.
