FR chamber award winners named
Fort Recovery Chamber of Commerce recently announced the recipients and nominees for the 38th Annual Citizen of the Year - Hall of Fame Awards Banquet to be held in March.
The 2017 Citizen of the Year award will be given to Connor Rammel. He is active with Friends of the Arts, Chamber of Commerce, Merchants Association and the recent 225 Celebration.
Others nominated for Citizen of the Year were Jose Faller, Robert Freemyer and Dan and Theresa Lennartz.
Hall of Fame award recipients for 2017 are Pat Diller, Thomas Sandrell and Dan Wendel for their continued contributions to the Fort Recovery community.
Others nominated for the Hall of Fame award were Bob Portz, Tom Remaklusand Bob Staugler.
The Fort Recovery Business of the Year is Sunshine Boutique, which is owned by Krista Muhlenkamp and opened in September of 2013. The business was chosen because it offers a unique product and service to the community.
Fort Recovery Squad 3 First Responders, which includes Dan Wendel, Jared Laux, Jerry Byram and Nathan Wendel, will be presented with the Outstanding Community Service Award.
Beautification award winners will include Judy Wood - Most Improved Residential Property, Erikand Kristi Fiely - Most Improved Dwelling, and the Paul Staugler Recreational Trail - Community Improvement Award.
The Chamber of Commerce Scholarship will be awarded to Taylor Grisez, a senior at Fort Recovery High School and the daughter of Dave Grisez and Candice Wilson.
The Annual Awards Banquet will be held on March 11 at the Fort Recovery Elementary/Middle SchoolAuditeria and is sponsored by J & M Manufacturing. Tickets are available at local banks, Fort Recovery Insurance Agency or by calling (419) 375-2530.
