Battery died
A Geneva woman and a Bryant man were involved in a traffic collision Thursday night.
Shelvia S. Rines, 64, Geneva, was traveling north on Indiana 27 just past county road 400 North when the battery of her 2000 Ford Explorer died.
Dylan Brotherton, 22, Bryant, was also traveling north and did not see Rines’ vehicle and collided with the rear of her vehicle with his 1994 Honda Accord.
Rines told police because her battery was dead, she did not have lights on. Damage in the 11:20 p.m. accident was estimated at $2,500 to $5,000.
Pole struck
A Bryant teen was involved in an accident Thursday.
Mariah L. Reinhart, 17, was traveling west on county road 300 North when her vehicle veered off the north side of the road. She told police that she overcorrected and lost control of her 1998 Plymouth Neon. It traveled off the south side of the road, striking a Jay County REMC pole.
Damage in the 12:35 a.m. accident was estimated at $2,500 to $5,000.
Deer hit
A Yorktown woman was in an accident involving a deer Thursday night.
Kenisha L. Lehman, 24, was driving southwest on Indiana 67 when a deer ran into the roadway. She told police she could not avoid hitting the deer with her 2015 Chevrolet Cruze.
Estimated damage in the 11:10 p.m. accident was $2,500 to $5,000.
