Link scores 21 to lead Chiefs

Carter Link had his best game of the season.
It helped the Chiefs dominate the Patriots.
Link scored a season-high 21 points Thursday, leading the East Jay Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team to a 58-38 win over the Heritage Patriots.
East Jay’s eighth grade team also won, 39-25.
Dusty Pearson tallied nine points in support of Link. The Chiefs move to 8-3 (6-0 Allen County Athletic Conference).
Gavin Muhlenkamp and Ethan Dirksen both scored 10 points to lead the eighth grade Chiefs (9-2, 5-1 ACAC).
Chiefs blast Patriots
MONROEVILLE — The East Jay seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams both blasted the host Heritage Patriots on Thursday.
The eighth graders won 46-13, and the seventh graders had a 44-13 victory.
Madison Dirksen and Andrea Jutte scored 14 and 10 points respectively to lead the EJMS eighth graders (6-5). Holly Hemmelgarn was third on the team with six points.
Renna Schwieterman led the seventh graders (10-1) with 17 points, and Lydia Keihn tallied a dozen points. Olivia Waters’ nine points was third for the Chiefs.
Stars defeat Eagles
BERNE — The South Adams seventh and eighth grade girls basketball teams knocked off the West Jay Eagles on Thursday.
The Stars won the eighth-grade contest 42-22, and nabbed the seventh-grade game 28-12.
Isabel Rodgers led the Eagle eighth graders with 16 points and Kaelyn Denney contributed four points. Abbie Fields chipped in two points.
Grace Shimp led the WJMS seventh graders with six points, and Fields tallied four points. Taylor Brown finished with two points.
South Adams stats were not provided.

WINCHESTER — West Jay’s sixth grade boys basketball teams both lost Thursday to Winchester Driver.
The A team fell 39-35, while the B team lost 10-3.
Parker Nichols and Liam Garringer led the A squad with 16 and 13 points respectively. Jackson Edwards contributed three points, Trevin Dunnington had two points and Ryan Gross had one point.
Jason Ayala scored all three points for the B team.
