Felony arrests
Possession
A Portland man was arrested on a drug possession charge early this morning.
Alan W. Shawver, 35, 840 W. 100 North, was arrested on the preliminary charge of possession of cocaine, narcotics or methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. He was booked at 4:04 a.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held there on a $3,000 bond.
Probation violation
A Hartford City man was arrested Monday for violating his probation.
Jeremiah A. Price, 29, 400 W. Franklin St., was arrested on a warrant for violating his probation on the original charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
He was booked at 8:08 a.m. into Jay County Jail and was being held there on a $1,500 bond.
Theft
Two men were arrested on theft charges Wednesday evening.
Cameron W. Besser, 28, 209 S. Second St., Dunkirk, was arrested on the preliminary charge of theft by borrowing, a Level 6 felony. He was booked at 6:02 p.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held there on a $3,000 bond.
Drew P. Mitchell, 19, 404 E. Babb Road, Eaton, was also preliminarily charged with theft by borrowing, a Level 6 felony. He was booked at 6:19 p.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held there on a $3,000 bond.
Parole violation
A Portland woman was arrested Monday for violating her parole.
Shelby J. Steed, 22, 412 N. Commerce St., was arrested for violating her parole from Indiana Department of Correction.
She was booked at 2:50 p.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held there without bail.
Several warrants
A Portland woman was arrested on several warrants Monday.
Kala L. Chowning, 26, 1685 W. 100 North, was arrested on warrants for assisting a criminal, a Level 6 felony, and resisting law enforcement and possession of marijuana, Class A misdemeanors.
She was booked at 6 p.m. into Jay County Jail and was being held on a $5,000 bond.
Theft, possession
A Dunkirk woman was arrested on two bench warrants Monday.
Angie L. Fields, 45, 320 E. Ohio St., was arrested on warrants for theft, a Level 6 felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor.
She was booked at 6 p.m. into Jay County Jail and was being held on a $5,000 bond.
Failure to appear
A Dunkirk woman was arrested early this morning on a charge stemming from Blackford County.
Rachel C. Mock, 27, 128 W. Center St., was arrested for failing to appear in court in Blackford County on nine charges of forgery, Class C felonies.
She was booked at 4:39 a.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held there without bond.
