Thanks for help with Miracle Miles

To the editor:

We would like to extend our gratitude to the community for their support of the Miracle Miles for Matt color run.

All proceeds from this event were given to the Hough family to help with expenses related to Matt’s liver transplant. We would not have been successful had it not been for the following generous and community-minded businesses and individuals: Clear Chiropractic, First Bank of Berne, McDonald’s, Flamespray, Ja-Mar, The Tire Center, Dr. Fullenkamp, Hough’s Auto Salvage, Fisher Meats, Portland Elks, Portland Veterinary Clinic, FCC, Crossroads Federal Credit Union, Coca Cola, Thrivent Financial, True Value Hardware, T-Flyerz, Erin Davis, Mitch and Jenna Muhlenkamp, and Roger and Judy Wellman. We would also like to thank the many volunteers for their help setting up and cleaning up. A special thank you goes to the JCHS softball team for giving up their Saturday morning to help with the race. We were so happy to host the Indiana Donor Network and their representative, Paul. 

Five people signed up to become organ donors! This meant so much to the Hough family. The selflessness of the donor family turned a tragedy into a second chance at life for Matt and his family, and they are ever so grateful.
