English Days to be held at fairgrounds

English Days, a United English Breeders and Fanciers Coonhound event, will be held Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Jay County Fairgrounds.

Dog shows will begin at noon each day and coon hunts will be at 7 p.m. each evening.

NCGLNAC Gathering

National Center for Great Lakes Native American Culture will host the 15th annual Gathering of Great Lakes Pow Wow on Saturday and Sunday at  the Tri-State grounds on Morton Street in Portland.

Native American drums, singers and dancers will be featured from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday. A flute and hand drum contest will be at noon Saturday and at 11 a.m. Sunday. 

Admission is $3. Bring lawn chairs. 

 

Swiss Village 50th

Swiss Village Retirement Community in Berne will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Saturday. 

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Blumengarten parking lot.

Ken and Fernando will perform at 11 a.m.; The Swiss Village Singers at 1:30 p.m.; Gabe Bailey & Rocksteady at 3 p.m. and The Bull Dogs at 5 p.m.
