Stand up for rights

To the editor:

Mr. Endres, we are getting tired of your trickery and deception. Now you send a desperation letter where you state “our community and our kids.”

Since when did you become part of our community. Did you decide to move to Jay County  so you could experience firsthand the terrors of these monstrosities?

You are insulting the folks who live and work here with your dishonesty.

You imply to our citizens that this is a done deal so they will not resist.

Is this why Scout Clean Energy is spending hard-earned tax dollars (aka subsidies) to win over the people of Jay County — by sending deceptive information to ask for their support?

The people of Jay County are intelligent people who are tired of being stepped on by those with deep pockets. We have learned too well the dangers and risks associated with your fast and easy money. As our parents taught us, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

To the real Jay County residents, please educate yourselves by going to Windwatch.org. Like the generations before us who stood up for their rights, we need to do the same.

County will benefit

To the editor:

My name is Jordan Wall.

I just want to voice my support for the proposed Bitter Ridge Wind Farm.

I am a 26-year-old, third-generation farmer with a bachelor’s degree in finance. I own land in Jefferson Township within the bounds of the proposed wind farm.

I currently live in Randolph County in the the area of the Bluff Point project but do not have any turbines. There are four turbines within a mile of my house, and they are not causing me any trouble whatsoever.

I did a thesis on wind energy for an honors class my junior year of high school so I have been studying and researching wind energy for several years.

I truly believe that most of the negatives associated with wind energy are extremely exaggerated.

The current wind farm proposal would place two turbines on my property in Jay County. My plans are to build a house on that property close to where the turbines will be located in the near future. The building of the turbines will not deter me from these plans in the least. The revenue from these turbines would help me become more established as a beginning farmer and is money that I would be spending in the Jay County community.

The wind farm won’t just benefit the landowners. It benefits the local construction companies, hospital, schools (that my kids will someday attend), the county highway department, restaurants, etc. Everyone in Jay County will benefit from the increased tax revenues and influx of capital into the local economy.

I firmly support the Bitter Ridge Wind Farm. I think it will be great for all of Jay County.

Sincerely,

Jordan Wall
