EJMS pins its way by Tigers
Seven Chiefs earned pins on Tuesday, guiding the East Jay Middle School wrestling team to a 57-27 victory over the Bluffton Tigers.
It was the final dual meet of the season for East?Jay (13-3). The Chiefs will cap their year on Saturday in the Allen County Athletic Conference championships, which will be hosted by Adams Central in Monroe.
Tony Wood, a 75-pounder, and Cody Rowles (80) pinned their opponents in their respective weight classes. Cameron Clark (95), Nate Paxson (125), Kadin Ridenour (132), Cameron Gage (140) and Ramon Bravo (175) also picked up pins for East Jay.
At 150 pounds, Mason Ludy earned a 5-2 decision as Adryon Miller (195) and Joe Hemmelgarn (220) both received forfeits.
Dyllan Garringer dropped a 9-6 decision at 90 pounds, Jayden Maymi fell 5-4 at 110 and Blayne Daniels lost 5-0 at 117.
Carter Link (85), Patrick Hemmelgarn (102) and Juaqin Flores (160) got pinned in their matches.
