Limit traffic to two lanes
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
The six-block area of Meridian Street through downtown Portland needs to be two lanes.
You can only get in or out of Portland with two-lane traffic because of bridges east and south, so why four lanes only in our six-block downtown? Try to name a revitalized downtown with four-lane traffic.
If there is opposition, come up with drawings of a downtown with two lanes and one with four lanes, and then choose the best.
Angle parking will add more spaces and be safer for customers of local businesses.
I have more, but one thing at a time. It takes years for change.
