A semi jackknifed on Indiana 67 in Wabash Township about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, blocking the highway to traffic.

Ollie L. Wilkie Jr., 51, Jackson, Michigan, told the Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was eastbound and had slowed down due to snow on the roadway but lost control of the 2013 Freightliner he was driving.

His tractor ended up in a side ditch, with the trailer blocking the travel portion of the highway.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

Andrew Yoder, 49, Geneva, told the Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was northbound on U.S. 27 and had signaled to turn east on county road 400 North when his 2008 GMC pick-up was hit in the rear by a 2004 Pontiac Aztek driven by Anna M. Mitchell A. Murphy, 53, rural Bryant, told the Jay County Sheriff’s Office he was southbound on 200 West, north of Indiana 26, when he lost control of his 2000 Ford F25 pick-up on the icy pavement. The truck went off the east side of the road and struck a pole.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
