Local notes

One more chance to register

Portland Junior League will have one last registration session for its upcoming baseball and softball seasons.

Registration will be from 5 to 7 p.m. April 5 also at Jay Community Center.

PJL is open to boys and girls ages 5 to 15 years old. Registration forms can be picked up at school offices or at JCC.



Golf outing is June 1

The Jay County Chamber of Commerce Chamber Classic Golf Outing is slated for June 1 at Portland Golf CLub.

Cost is $250 per foursome, and it includes lunch, a golf clinic from 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. and time on the driving range.

Registration, which is limited to 21 teams, begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 10 a.m.
