A Dunkirk man pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to attempted theft, a Level 6 felony.
Cameron W. Besser, 29, 333 S. Indiana St., was sentenced to one year in Jay County Jail with all but 44 days suspended and given 44 days credit for 22 days served. He was fined $1, assessed court costs of $185 and placed on formal probation for 11 months. The sentence will be served consecutively to the sentence for a charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, which Besser pleaded guilty to in October in Blackford County Superior Court.
Denied
A Redkey man’s petition for a modification of a sentence imposed in Jay Circuit Court was denied recently.
David E. Dunham, 1 S. Meridian St., Apartment 5, pleaded guilty in October to two charges of theft, Class A misdemeanors. He was sentenced to two years in Jay County Jail, to be served consecutively to any sentence imposed in a separate case in Randolph County Circuit Court. Dunham asked the court to allow him to serve the sentence on home detention instead, but his request was denied.
