Last week vs. South Adams: Landon Grimes had a key interception and Ryan Schlechty rushed for a key first down in the fourth quarter to preserve a 15-14 victory over Class A No. 8 South Adams. Michael Schlechty and Trey Castillo each had rushing touchdowns for the Patriots, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Season leaders: Passing — Parker Grimes – 61-of-101 for 1,158 yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 74 carries for 451 yards and seven touchdowns. Receiving — Ryan Schlechty – 18 catches for 417 yards and six touchdowns. Defense — R. Schlechty – 72 tackles, eight tackles for loss, one sack and four interceptions.

Team notes: Thurgood Marshall, part of the Dayton Public School District, started its year with five consecutive losses before snapping the streak with a 49-6 victory over Collinwood (Cleveland, Ohio) last week ... The Cougars feature an All-Ohio kicker, Rolando Perez, who booted a 48-yarder during a game in early September ... The Cougars average 16.5 points per game offensively, and surrender more than 34 points defensively, including two games allowing more than 50 points.
