Kylie Osborne was once part of a three-headed attack for the Patriots.

As a Raven, she’s been the go-to offensive player.

Osborne, a 2016 Jay County High School graduate, led the Anderson volleyball team in kills during back-to-back matches as the Ravens ended September with a win but began October with a loss.

The junior had 14 kills on 46 attacks Saturday as the Ravens defeated Mount St. Joseph 17-25, 25-22, 25-20, 27-25, 15-11. She also finished second on the team with 23 digs to go with her two aces and a pair of assists.

In a 3-0 loss Wednesday to Rose-Hulman, Osborne finished with nine kills.

Osborne leads the Ravens (9-10, 1-1 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference) with 199 kills, an average of 3.11 kills per set. She also has 144 digs for third on the team, and her 13 total digs are fourth.

South Adams – 2017

Ran for the Purdue University men’s cross country team as it competed in the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday in Madison, Wisconsin.

The freshman had a time of 25 minutes, 34.9 seconds, to place 200th overall and seventh for the Boilermakers in the 8K race.

Purdue totaled 317 points for ninth out of 33 teams, 15 of which were ranked in the NCAA top 25. Top-ranked Northern Arizona won the team title with 46 points.

Morgan McDonald of No. 9 Wisconsin won the race in 23:17.6.



Kendra Siefring

Fort Recovery – 2016

Led the University of Saint Francis volleyball team in kills on Wednesday in a five-set loss to Grace College.

The junior finished with 14 kills on 34 attacks for a .294 hitting percentage. She also had five digs, one ace and four total blocks for the NAIA No. 18 Cougars (16-7, 8-3 Crossroad League), who remain tied for first in the conference standings.

Siefring is second on the team with 76 blocks, which rank 31st in the nation.



Cassidy Rammel

Fort Recovery – 2015

Contributed to the University of Saint Francis volleyball team during its defeat to Grace College on Wednesday.

She had seven kills, which was fourth on the team. Her nine digs were second and she also added two aces.

Rammel has 239 kills for the season, which leads the team, and she averages 2.75 kills per set.



Drew LeFever

South Adams – 2016

Finished second in rushing yards for the Taylor University football team in its loss Saturday to Saint Xavier University, 49-36.

The junior running back totaled five carries for 32 yards, including two for 10 or more yards. He had a 10-yard rush in the second quarter before adding a 15-yard scamper in the fourth.

LeFever has 30 carries for 128 yards, which is third for the Trojans (2-2), for an average of 4.3 yards per rush. 



Kiah Wendel

Fort Recovery – 2018

Helped the Owens Community College volleyball team to its third consecutive win Friday, a three-set sweep over Clark State.

The freshman totaled seven digs for the Express (22-3), who are the second-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Wendel averages 3.64 digs per set, and her 291 digs on the season rank 27th in all of NJCAA.



Derek Wanner

South Adams – 2015

Finished with a season-high total for tackles as a part of the Taylor University football team in its loss Saturday to Saint Xavier University.

The senior defensive back had three solo tackles and assisted on another, doubling his previous season high.

Wanner has nine stops — six solo — including two tackles for loss on the year for the Trojans.



Travis Sutter

Fort Recovery – 2017

Scored for the Ohio Northern men’s cross country team Saturday in the All-Ohio Cross Country Championships at Akron University.

The sophomore finished the 8K race in 26 minutes, 25.9 seconds for 115th overall. Among NCAA Division III athletes, he was 43rd.

The Polar Bears totaled 138 points for fourth. Otterbein won with 52 points.

Josh Park of Ohio University was the overall race winner in 24:14.9.



Kaelyn Weaver

Jay County – 2018

Made two starts for the Saint Xavier University volleyball team as it competed in the Holiday Inn Express Invitational at Olivet Nazarene on Friday and Saturday.

The freshman started against third-ranked NAIA No. 3 Columbia in a three-set loss on Friday, during which she had a pair of kills on six attacks. She also added a pair of digs. Later that day she had one dig in a 3-1 loss to Grace College.

The following day against Taylor University she tallied one assist and a dig for the Cougars (13-6).

 
Gabbie Mann
Jay County – 2016
Came off the bench for the Purdue Fort Wayne women’s soccer team Sunday in its 5-1 home loss to North Dakota State University.
The junior logged 26 minutes and took one shot on goal but had it turned away.
Mann has played 10 games for the Mastodons (3-6-3), made four starts, and has three shots on goal. She averages nearly 38 minutes per game.

Jay County – 2017
 
Earned his first full clean sheet for the Ancilla College men’s soccer team in a 2-0 victory Saturday against Lakeland.
 
The sophomore goalkeeper turned away all three shots he faced.
 
A day later, Chaney again made three stops in nearly 74 minutes of play as the Chargers (6-4) defeated Cuyahoga, 4-0. Chaney has five wins to his credit, and four losses with a save percentage of .683  and 2.53 goals against average.

FRHS – 2016
 
Played for the Capital University volleyball team Tuesday in a three-set loss to Heidelberg.
 
Jutte had one assist and helped on a block in the defeat. She also had nine attacks but did not record a kill for the Crusaders (0-17).



 
Ava Kunkler
 
Jay County – 2016
 
Also played for the University of Saint Francis volleyball team in its 23-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15, 15-12 loss to Grace College on Wednesday.
 
Kunkler had nine kills for third on the team. She also contributed a pair of digs.
