Three injured
Three teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident Sunday evening.
Jenna M. Dunfee, 16, Columbus, was driving west on county road 500 South near its intersection with county road 100 West. She told Jay County Sheriff’s Office she lost control of the 2009 Honda Civic she was driving on the gravel road. When she tried to correct the vehicle, it turned sideways, went off the north side of the road, struck several trees and overturned in the ditch, coming to rest on its roof.
Dunfee sustained injuries to her arm in the crash. Madison N. Prosser, 17, Bryant, and Kymia D. Hankins, 17, Pennville, passengers in the vehicle, were also injured. Prosser had a back injury and Hankins’ leg was bleeding. All three were transported from the scene for medical treatment.
The Civic is registered to Kimberly Dunfee, Columbus.
Damage in the 6 p.m. accident is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
