WINCHESTER — A slow start doomed the Jay County High School junior varsity football team in a 38-22 loss to the Winchester Golden Falcons on Monday.
Jay County (3-5) fell behind 14-0 after the first quarter and trailed 30-14 at half. Both teams scored a touchdown with a 2-point conversion in the final period.
Quinn Faulkner had two touchdowns for the Patriots, who also got a rushing TD from Qadon Ferrell.
Sean Fisher notched a 2-point conversion.
Rylee Huftel led the JCHS defense with eight solo tackles.
Jay County concludes the regular season at 10 a.m. Saturday against the Heritage Patriots.
