Last week at Adams Central: Jay County turned the ball over five times, including four fumbles, in a 41-0 loss to the Class A No. 7 Flying Jets. The Patriots surrendered 509 yards of total offense while gaining only 162.
Season leaders: Passing — Parker Grimes – 23-of-43 for 526 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Rushing — Michael Schlechty – 38 carries for 239 yards and four touchdowns. Receiving — Ryan Schlechty – seven receptions for 192 yards and two touchdowns. Defense — R. Schlechty – 38 tackles and six tackles for loss.

Bluffton Tigers
Bluffton, 0-4 (0-2)

Conference: Allen County
Last week vs. Woodlan: Bluffton allowed 29 points in the first quarter of a 49-21 loss to ACAC rival Woodlan. The Tigers were behind 42-21 at half but never reached the end zone in the final 24 minutes.
Season leaders: Passing — Gavin King – 23-of-45 for 267 yards, two touchdowns and four interceptions. Rushing — Everett Johnson – 67 carries for 532 yards and five touchdowns. Receiving — Blake Kizer – 12 receptions for 112 yards and one touchdown. Defense — Evan Kitt – 51 tackles, two tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.
Last season: Jay County had a nine-point lead at intermission but lost three fumbles in the second half of a 37-28 home loss to Bluffton. Michael Schlechty, Ryan Schlechty and Cole Stigleman each had touchdowns during the first half. Holton Hill threw for 220 yards, but ultimately the three giveaways proved to be the difference.
Game notes: This is the seventh meeting all time between Jay County and Bluffton, with the Patriots holding a 5-1 advantage. Jay County’s first game as a program back in 1975 was a 7-0 win over Bluffton ... The Tigers began the season with wins over Northfield and Manchester, but had to forfeit as the team self-reported the use of an ineligible player. ... John Harrell’s website predicts Jay County to win, 31-28.
