Drove off road
A Geneva man was involved a single-vehicle accident last week in Adams County.
On July 30, Jonathan A. Templin, 23, was driving east on Adams County road 900 South near its intersection with Adams County road 700 West. He told Adams County Sheriff’s Office that the tires of his 2007 GMC Sierra went off the south side of the road as he crested a hill. He lost control of the vehicle, which went into the ditch and knocked over an American Electric Power pole. Templin drove through a soybean field as he reentered the roadway.
Damage in the 6:51 a.m. accident is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
In area courts
Several area residents were fined and sentenced recently in Celina (Ohio) Municipal Court.
Aaron J. Homan, 20, 3180 Erastus-Durbin Road, Fort Recovery, pleaded no contest to having physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, amended from the original charge of operating a vehicle while under the influence. He was fined $1,000, assessed court costs and ordered to attend alcohol counseling.
Jared A. Alig, 23, Portland, pleaded no contest to operating a vehicle while under the influence. He was fined $375, assessed court costs, had his license suspended for one year and can complete alcohol counseling instead of serving jail time.
Others fined were: Charles T. Metzger, 57, Fort Recovery, speeding, $25; Roman J. Wenning, 44, Bryant, license plate violation, $30; Carrie A. Sudhoff, 36, Fort Recovery, speeding, $15; and Trent A. Jacobs, 27, Fort Recovery, speeding, $15.
