Makayla is the daughter of Joe and Diana Jobe of rural Portland. Jacob is the son of Donnie and Laura Schlosser of rural Portland.
The prospective bride works as an accountant at Bollenbacher and Associates. The prospective groom is a student pursuing a chiropractic degree at Logan University in St. Louis. Both are graduates of Jay County High School.
