Mission founder will speak in FR

Taking Note

The founder of a mission that does work in Asia will speak this weekend at a Fort Recovery Church.

C.Y. Kim, co-founder of CRAM Worldwide INC, will speak during the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday at 1st Church of Christ in Fort Recovery.

Kim has been involved in ministry in Asia for more than 50 years. The work includes job and leadership training, schools, therapy programs, schools and medical clinics in North Korea, South Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, China, Russia and Cambodia.

Meeting scheduled

Jay County Men of Prayer will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Richards Restaurant. All men and boys are involved to attend the meeting for “manly discussions” and exploration of the Bible and scriptures.



Jamboree set

Union Chapel Church of the Nazarene will host its annual bluegrass and gospel jamboree from 2 to 4 p.. Sept. 7.

The jamboree will feature Common Ground and the Riddells. There will be all-you-can-eat soup, beans and cornbread. Visitors are invited to bring a lawn chair.

The church is located on county road 900 North, 2 miles west of Indiana 1.



To perform

The Foyer Family will perform at 6 p.m. Sept. 8 at Union Chapel Church, 6200 N. 375 West. Food will be served in addition to fellowship time after the concert.



Hosting

Southside Church of Christ is planning a gospel meeting and a movie night

The gospel meeting will run for three days — Sept. 8, 9 and 10 — beginning at 6 p.m.

Movie night is scheduled for 5 p.m. Sept. 22. The church is located at 1209 S. Shank St., Portland.
