Saturday vs. Richmond: Jay County outscored the Red Devils 7-2 in the final 2:30 to pick up a 47-44 victory. Brayden Sprunger paced the Patriots with 13 points while Ethan Dirksen scored 10 and the Gavins — Muhlenkamp and Dirksen — added nine apiece.

Friday vs. Garrett: Woodlan dominated the middle quarters, including a 21-9 advantage in the second, on the way to a 75-58 victory over the Railroaders.

Last season: The Patriots missed 17 free throws but still managed to knock off Woodlan 49-42. Ryan Schlechty led JCHS to the victory with 20 points and his twin brother Michael had 14. Joe Reidy totaled 21 points for the Warriors.
Game notes: Jay County is 4-1 against Woodlan with its only loss by a 60-53 score in 2016 ... The Warriors have allowed at least 58 points in each game this year, including 69 in the opener against New Haven ... JCHS is seeking its first 3-0 start since 2014-15, when it opened with wins over Muncie Central, Lakewood Park Christian, Woodlan and Delta ... Woodlan is led by Joe Reidy, who averaged 16.5 points and 6.4 rebounds last season as a freshman.
