Leslie Marie Coffman lost her battle to cancer at age 69 surrounded by her family on Nov. 30, 2019, at Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.
She was born Aug. 23, 1950 in Portland to Lester and Ruth (Fisher) Butcher. In her youth, she was a competitive baton twirler, winning many competitions. She was a 1968 graduate of Dunkirk High School.
She married Ted Coffman on Nov. 21, 1968 in Portland. She was avid about her crochet and loved creating keepsakes for anyone who wanted them. She loved spending her time with her family and friends, and enjoyed her time down at the lake with a line in the water.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Ted; two daughters, Rachel (George) McMillen and Rita (Rod) Lester; three sisters, Sharon Shaffer, Delite (Charlie) Kiess and Alpha (Jeff) Campbell; seven grandchildren, Alan, Brittany, Matthew, Cydni, Taylor, Emily and Kolby; and seven great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Norfolk.
