Jay County High School’s wrestling team split a double-dual Tuesday, first losing to Delta 40-37 and then topping Yorktown 49-28.
Garrett Mann (160) was the only Patriot to win a pair of contested matches as he first dispatched of Lucas Fox of Delta in 3 minutes, 19 seconds. He followed with a 10-2 major decision over Ashton Anderson of Yorktown.
Mason Winner, who is ranked third in the state at 182 pounds, picked up a pair of forfeit wins.
Recording pins for Jay County in the win over Yorktown were Dylan Garringer (126), Nate Paxson (152), Kadin Ridenour (170) and Cooper Jacks (220). Pins against Delta came from Ethan Reiley (113) and Camron Gage (145).
Also, the Jay County B team went 1-4 Saturday at the Spencer Haworth Invitational hosted by South Adams.
Jayden Maymi (113) went 3-1 in contested matches, including a pin of Madison-Grant’s Trevor Vannatta in 2 minutes, 26 seconds, and Nate Paxson (152) added a 3-2 record. Zac Brotherton (126) picked up a pair of victories.
