Chris Limbert, age 63, a resident of rural Portland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, at IU Health Jay. He was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Portland. He worked for Portland Forge for 28 years and retired in 2012 from FCC in Portland. He enjoyed attending gun shows and auctions, as well as building radio-conrolled airplanes for many years.
Chris Limbert was born March 25, 1956, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Bob and Betty (Delauter) Limbert. He was married on July 14, 1975, to Carol Lanning.
Survivors include:
His beloved wife of 44 years — Carol Limbert, Portland, Indiana
One son — Mark Limbert (wife: Chrissy), Portland, Indiana
One sister — Nancy Rupe, Portland, Indiana
Four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter
He was preceded in death by a son, Mike Limbert; brothers Larry and Jeff Limbert; and his parents Bob and Betty Limbert.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Pastor Hugh Kelly will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Heart Fund.
