Steven Storie
Aug. 25, 1950-Nov. 6, 2019
Steven Lee Storie, age 69, of Terre Haute, Indiana, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2019, following a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family.
He was born to the late Walter Storie and Edith Storie on Aug. 25, 1950, in Portland, Indiana. He graduated from Redkey High School.
During the Vietnam conflict, Steve served his country proudly as a United States Marine with the Third Battalion, Platoon 3019. Upon returning home from the war, he married the love of his life, Marjorie, and joined Saint Gobain Glass where he worked for over 25 years.
Steve was a fighter through and through, enduring loss, war and chronic illness through faith and conviction. A self-made man, he was a hard worker with a big heart and jovial spirit. His signature cherry pies will be missed at holiday gathering for years to come.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Marjorie (Spade) Storie; and his children, Angela (Neil) Fields, Andrea (Brian) Weist, Danielle (Tom) Hart, Charles Storie and Shawn (Elyse) Storie. Steve was truly blessed with 13 grandchildren and three3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by siblings Sharon (Van) VanSteenis, Karen (Bill) Derby, Michelle Stephenson, Mike (Michelle) Storie, Tracey (Teresa) Storie, David Storie, Lisa (Rory) Pittman and Kindra (Shawn).
A celebration of life is planned for the spring.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Habitat for Humanity.
Please share memories and condolences online at Greiner Funeral Home, Terre Haute, Indiana.
