The Defiance College men’s basketball team had a strong showing at the foul line Saturday.

A Fort Recovery High School graduate played a key role in that result.

Micaiah Cox, FRHS class of 2017, hit all of his free throws in helping the Yellow Jackets improve to 7-1 with a 75-69 victory over Hanover.

Cox finished 4-of-4 at the foul line and added a field goal to total six points. He added two rebounds and an assist.

The junior forward has started all eight games for Defiance and is averaging 10.9 points while shooting 58.2 percent from the field. He is also averaging 3.5 rebounds per game.



Hanna Ault

Jay County – 2018

Hit a pair of 3-pointers Saturday in the Anderson University women’s basketball team’s 65-6 loss to Mt. St. Joseph.

Ault shot 2-of-3 from long distance for the Ravens (2-6) as she finished with six points. She also had five rebounds and two assists.



Owen Sheridan

Fort Recovery – 2019

Placed fifth in both of his races as the host Illinois College men’s swim team scored 134 points to finish second to Millikin University (168) in the five-team IC Winter Invite.

Sheridan’s first fifth-place effort came in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.41 seconds. He was also fifth with a time of 1 minute, 2.75 seconds, in the 100 butterfly.

Tyler Leonard

Jay County – 2017

Scored one of the only two wins for the Manchester University wrestling team Saturday in its 43-6 loss to Ohio Northern.

Leonard, wrestling at 165 pounds, knocked of AJ Szigetti 9-6.



Whitney Will

Fort Recovery – 2019

Got on the board for the 13th-ranked University of St. Francis women’s basketball team Monday in its 87-64 loss to NAIA No. 2 Southeastern.

Will scored two points off the bench for the Cougars. She also grabbed a pair of rebounds.
