Philip M. Premer, age 88, of Pennville passed away Thursday, Dec. 19, 2019, in IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
He was born in Jay County on Jan. 26, 1931, the son of Harold and Hazel (Spahr) Premer.
He was married on Sept. 19, 1954, to Mary L. Stowell who survives.
He was a 1948 graduate of Gov. IP Gray High School, served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War and was a member of Halfway Lodge #298 F&AM.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years Mary Lu; one son, Mikel Premer of Pennville; one daughter, Debra Dixon (husband: Donald) of St. Louis, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 23, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Phillips presiding. A masonic service will precede the funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the Claycomb Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon to 2 p.m.
