Deer struck
A Portland man’s car sustained an estimated $2,500 to $5,000 in damage after colliding with a deer Monday evening.
Garry R. Walker, 61, was driving west on county road 200 South near its intersection with county road 300 West when a deer ran out into the road. Walker was unable to avoid hitting it with his 2013 Chrysler 200.
The collision occurred at 7:36 p.m.
Deer struck
A Pennville woman hit a deer with her car Thursday night.
Laura L. Coleman, 54, was driving west on county road 300 North near its intersection with county road 300 West when a deer ran out into the road. She was unable to avoid hitting the animal with her 2007 Honda Civic.
Damage in the 7:10 p.m. collision is estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Drove off road
An Ohio woman drove her vehicle off the road Friday afternoon, striking a utility pole.
Adrienne R. Fairbanks, 29, Dayton, Ohio, was driving her 2009 Chevrolet Trailblazer west on county road 200 South approaching its intersection with county road 500 East. She told Jay County Sheriff’s Office that as she was moving over to make way for an oncoming vehicle, her Trailblazer went off the north side of the road. It struck an Indiana Michigan Power utility pole and a stop sign before rolling and coming to rest in a ditch.
Damage in the 2:50 p.m. accident is estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
Backing accident
Two Portland residents were involved in a vehicle collision Saturday in the Circle K North parking lot.
Preston R. Keen, 23, was backing up a 2007 Ford Edge from a parking space at 325 N. Meridian St., Portland. He told Portland Police Department he didn’t see Kimberly A. Worley, 45, who was driving north in the parking lot behind his vehicle. Keen struck the passenger side of Worley’s 2002 Ford Expedition.
The Ford Edge Keen was driving is registered to Staci R. Keen, Portland.
Damage in the 4:18 p.m. collision is estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
