Fire calls
Pennville Fire Department responded to two calls Monday.
At 6:25 a.m., the department was called to a home in the north 8000 block of Indiana 1 in rural Bryant for a report of a fire in a dryer vent. It was extinguished before firefighters arrived.
At 5:16 p.m., it received a report of an open burn in the north 2000 block of Indiana 1 in Pennville.
