Local notes
Ansonia hosting 5K
Registration is open for the Ansonia (Ohio) Firecracker 5K. The race is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, beginning at Ansonia Schools, 600 E. Canal St. (Ohio 47). The entry fee is $18 with a T-shirt or $12 without for adults.

Registration on the day of the race will begin at 7 a.m.
Registration open
Registration is now open for a summer youth golf camp at Portland Golf Club. The camp, which is from 9 to 10:30 a.m. July 23 through 25, is open to boys and girls entering first through eighth grades.
Cost is $25. T-shirts will be provided to all participants, and lunch will be provided on the final day.
Deadline to register for a shirt is July 12, and registration can be completed up to the first day of the camp.
Forms can be picked up at Portland Golf Club, 124 W. 200 South, Portland.
Football camp is July 22
The Jay County High School football team will be hosting a kids camp from July 22 through 25 at JCHS.
Cost is $25, and each camper receives a T-shirt.
The camp, which will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. each day, is open to kids entering kindergarten through eighth grade.
Registration forms can be picked up at JCHS, the Redkey Junior League diamonds, the Portland Junior League fields, West Jay Community Center and Portland Water Park.

Tournament is July 27
The Swiss Days 3-on-3 basketball tournament is set for July 27 at South Adams Middle School.
Cost for each four-player team is $60, and the deadline to register is July 22.
The tournament is open to anyone in third grade or older.

Volleyball camp set
Jay County High School will hold its summer volleyball camp for kindergarten through eighth graders July 29 through Aug. 1.
The session for kindergarten through fifth graders will be from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. with sixth through eighth graders from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
