Felony court news
Pleads guilty
Ronald Lee Petty, 46, Bryant, entered a plea of guilty in Wells Superior Court to charges of domestic battery and invasion of privacy, both Level 6 felonies.
He was sentenced to 912 days in the Indiana Department of Correction on each charge, with all but 224 days suspended and credited with time already served.
He was placed on probation for 1,600 days and ordered to pay $2,190 in court costs and fees.
Probation violation
A Hartford City man was sentenced in Jay Superior Court for violating his probation.
Adrian T. Stewart, 21, 314 E. High St., was found in violation of his probation on the original charge of unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. He was ordered to serve an additional 176 days of the sentence imposed on Nov. 19 and was given 176 days credit for 88 days served. His probation was terminated unsuccessfully.
Theft
A woman pleaded guilty in Jay Superior Court to theft, a Level 6 felony.
Amber R. Newton, 31, whose last known address was in Portland, was sentenced to Jay County Jail for 180 days and was given credit for time served from April 20. She was assessed court costs of $185.
In a separate case, a petition alleging violation of the conditions of her probation on the charge of theft, a Class A misdemeanor, was dismissed.
