Big Mac mishap

A van involved in a property damage accident while leaving McDonald’s in Portland left the scene without stopping about 7:35 a.m. Saturday.

Betty L. LeMaster, 84, rural Portland, told Portland Police Department she was northbound on North Meridian Street when a black van turned out of McDonald’s and struck her 2007 Ford in the front driver’s side door.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.

City collision

Between $5,000 and $10,000 in damage was reported about 5:45 p.m. Saturday when an SUV and a mini-van collided at Commerce and Race streets in Portland.

Deborah A. Johanning, 55, Temecula, California, told Portland Police Department she was northbound on Commerce Street in her 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and saw an oncoming eastbound vehicle on Race Street but thought she could make it through the intersection in time. She couldn’t.

The Chevrolet collided with a 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by Tonya K. Upp, 44, rural Portland.

Backing accident

A pair of Chevrolets collided on Lafayette Street in Portland about 9:55 p.m. Saturday when one of the drivers backed out of a driveway into the path of a car traveling south in an alley.

Brianna R. Evans, 22, Portland, told Portland Police Department she didn’t see the other vehicle when she backed up her 2009 Chevrolet Impala, colliding with a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Beth A. Grigsby, 31, Portland.

Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.

Light malfunction

A malfunctioning traffic light at Meridian Street and Industrial Park Drive contributed to a two-vehicle accident shortly after noon Sunday.

Ezequiel Z. Martinez, 39, Falls Church, Virginia, was southbound in a 2007 Ford van and had stopped because the traffic signal was flashing red. His vehicle was struck from behind by a 2013 Volkswagen driven by Jacob A. Gable, 22, Fort Wayne.

Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
