James Pyle
James Pyle, age 82, of Indianapolis, and a Portland native, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at Forrest Creek Village in Indianapolis.
He was born in Portland on Dec. 11, 1936, the son of Marlin and Rita (Shepard) Pyle. He was married July 5, 1958, to Billie Ann Taylor, and she died in 2012.
He served with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and worked for A&B Robotics for 12 years. He was a member of the American Legion.
Surviving are one daughter, Julie Vanaman of Indianapolis; two sons, Jeff Pyle of Indianapolis and David Pyle of Indianapolis; one brother, John Pyle of Portland; two sisters, Judy Matlinowski of Portland and Janice Gingerich of Albany; two grandchildren; and one great-grandson and one great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay and Joe Pyle.
Funeral services will be Friday, March 29, 2019, at 11 a.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Walker presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bryant. Visitation will be Friday from 9 to 11 a.m.
