Vehicle pursuit
A Richmond man was arrested Monday morning after a vehicle pursuit by Portland Police Department.
At about 8 a.m., an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle driven by Joey L. Adams Jr., 27, 1019 Boyer St. Adams allegedly did not stop and was pursued by police vehicles until his car ran out of gas in Deerfield.
Adams was arrested on the preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and resisting an officer, Level 6 felonies, driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor, and reckless driving, a Class B misdemeanor. He is also wanted on a non-extraditable warrant in Florida.
He was booked at 9:44 a.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held on a $4,500 bond.
Two passengers in the vehicle were released without charges.
Violation, possession
A Portland woman was arrested early this morning for violating her probation and on a drug-related charge.
Brooke A. Bennett, 19, 812 E. Walnut St., was arrested on a warrant for violating her probation on the original charge of driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. She was also preliminarily charged with possession of cocaine, narcotics or methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
She was booked at 12:25 a.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held on a $3,000 surety, $500 cash bond.
Possession
A Portland man was arrested today on a drug possession charge.
Blake W. Price, 28, 6604 W. 400 South, was arrested on the preliminary charge of possession of cocaine, narcotics or methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony.
He was booked at 12:53 a.m. into Jay County Jail and is being held on a $3,000 bond.
