INDIANAPOLIS — Kinsey Shannon was seeded fifth in the 400-meter dash.
Her finish matched her seed.
Shannon accounted for all four team points for the Jay County High School girls track team as it had its season conclude in the IHSAA Girls Track and Field Regional on Tuesday at Ben Davis.
North Central scored 117 points for the regional crown, leaving runner-up Lawrence North a distant second with 66 points.
Jay County tied with Burris for 22nd out of 25 scoring teams.
Shannon, who was the sectional champion in the 400 dash last week, crossed the finish line Tuesday in 1 minute, 0.82 seconds. North Central freshman Ramiah Elliott won the race with a state-standard time of 54.65 seconds.
Also competing individually for the Patriots were Sophia Fugiett (11th – 800 run), Halle Hill (11th – long jump), Abby Benter (12th – 100 hurdles), Calli Stigleman (14th – 200 dash) and Kassidy Fennig (15th – discus).
The 4x100 relay team of Shea Bailey, Karlie Bullard, Renee Omstead and Stigleman was 11th, as was the 4x400 relay team of Sara Hemmelgarn, Ashlyn Dow, Hill and Omstead. The 4x800 relay team of Raven Weaver, Lindy Wood, Cheyenne Liette and Fugiett finished 12th.
