Damon D. Wolford, age 88, of Portland passed away Wednesday evening Oct. 30, 2019, in the Adams County Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Portland on Oct. 27, 1931, the son of Ernest Wolford and Ruth (Pyle) Wolford and grew up in Portland. He worked for the Haynes Milling Company in Portland.
He was a 1952 graduate of Portland High School in Jay County and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are two sisters, Phyllis (husband: Ray) Affolder of Berne and Goldie Shults of Portland, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Eads presiding. Burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral. Memorials can be made to the Jay County Humane Society.
