Rear-ended
Between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage was reported in a two-vehicle accident about 9:15 a.m. Wednesday on Indiana 67 near county road 300 West in Greene Township.
Anna G. Lyons, 17, Portland, told Jay County Sheriff’s Office she was headed northeast on Indiana 67 and failed to see a pick-up truck that had stopped to make a right turn onto county road 300 West. Her 2010 Chevrolet Impala struck the rear of a 2012 Toyota Tundra driven by Maurice S. Grieshop, 24, rural Fort Recovery.
Intersection mishap
Cars driven by two rural Portland residents collided about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Meridian and Seventh streets.
Stephen P. Hudley, 52, told Portland police he had stopped at the intersection and when he pulled out, his 2010 Toyota struck the right rear of a 2005 Honda Accord driven by Robert A. Howell, 18.
Damage was estimated between $1,000 and $2,500.
Leaf pick-up set
Leaf pick-up in the City of Dunkirk is set for Nov. 8, 14, and 15 and Dec. 5.
Leaves should be bagged and left at the curb.
